Starting Kids Off Healthy

In addition to worrying about their own weight, parents have the health of their children to worry about, particularly in this day and age when childhood obesity has become such a concern in this country. Rather than letting things get to the point where you have to find the best boot camp to help your son or daughter shed unwanted pounds, why not get them started on the path to eating right when they are still young? It will save both them and you a lot of heartache in the future.

We tend to think of kids as being obsessed with sweets and junk foods, but the fact of the matter is that studies have shown that a parent’s eating habits are one of the biggest influences on children’s diets. It’s important to eat with your kids on a regular basis. Studies show that children who regularly eat dinner with their families tend to have better eating habits overall, something that no weight loss camp technique can truly replicate.

It’s also important to make sure that eating is a pleasant experience for your kids rather than a chore.  Forcing children to "clean their plates" and rewarding them for doing so is only a way to encourage overeating, as you’re teaching them to ignore being full, leading to a potential need for fitness camps in California.
