Yoga for beginners

Yoga provides an excellent workout to stay fit and healthy. It not only provides physical fitness and health but also invaluable for its mental, spiritual and emotional development too.

For beginners it is advised to start with some easy steps such as learning easy postures known in the industry as “asanas.” These will teach a beginner a correct way for lying down, standing and sitting in different positions. Beginners should master preliminary viniyoga and kripalu yoga before moving onto do advanced yoga asanas. Once a person gains control of preliminary asanas then he or she can move onto advanced asanas such as Ashtanga yoga which is commonly known as power yoga.

In order to master preliminary asanas, a person should spend approximately 10 to 15 minutes at an initial asana. This helps to increase the flexibility and muscular joints, improve blood circulation, and prepare the body for more demanding advanced asanas.

Beginners should also practice proper breathing which is crucial to yoga. Some of the initial breathing exercises include Anuloma-viloma, pranayama, and kapalbharti. These helps to increase the lung capacity, reduce stress, teach relaxation and rejuvenation that are much needed for yoga success. Combine with learning yoga etiquettes a beginner can reach success in yoga.
