CONTROLLING DIABETSE WITHOUT MEDICATION

If you have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, the initial reaction would be to resort to the medication prescribed by your doctor. But these medications cause many side effects such as liver damage, weight gain, stomach problems, nausea and many others. Therefore it is important to consider alternate ways to control the diseases.

Eat a healthy diet consisting of small portions of complex carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and lean meats and fish and eliminate processed foods, refined carbohydrates and sweets. It is important to eat on a regular schedule to maintain a healthy blood glucose level.

Exercise on a regular basis. This is essential in controlling diabetes as well as blood pressure, cholesterol and helps maintain a healthy weight. Combine an aerobics workout 3 to 4 days a week with resistance training 2 days a week for 30 minutes for best results.

Maintain a healthy weight. Obesity causes insulin resistance. Research has shown that people who lost excess weight soon after being diagnosed with diabetes were twice more likely to control their diabetes than those who did not.

There are instances where diabetes has been completely cured by following a healthy diet and exercise program.
